What’s Going On in the Kitchen?
If you haven’t yet, peek in the door of the kitchen and see the new lemon-colored walls awaiting new appliances and counters. The Vestry has approved the purchase of a shiny new stove and hood, a new icemaker and new stainless steel counters to name a few. New coffee and ice-tea services in addition to a new water dispenser have been included.

Nursery Opens!
We are proud to announce the re-opening of our infant/toddler nursery on the second floor.

St. John’s is Blooming
We may be on the threshold of Advent with colder temperatures for the next several months but the energy of new and renewed ministries at St. John’s reminds me more of spring!

A Senior Moment by Diane Hendricks (Senior Warden) : Edmund Caskie Harrison Fund
Have you been impacted by medical or dental expenses and wondered how you would ever have a life again? Or go to a movie again? Or maybe even go to the grocery store when you needed to? Many folks go without much-needed hearing aids or bifocals because their insurance policy just doesn’t cover them.

A Senior Moment by Diane Hendricks (Senior Warden) : St. John’s and Manna Meal
As a therapist and mother of three young children in 1991 I was immediately drawn to St. John’s dedication to social justice and their partnership with Manna Meal. So I, like many of you, have mixed feelings as they move from St. John’s to Garnet Center for dining and mobile units for storing and preparing food. Many of you are asking for more information about this transition - how and why this is happening.

Pastoral Care - A Holistic Approach
With Eric’s guidance and your support we hope to see “pastoral care” as an umbrella for many services that will be valuable as we build community and take care of each other.

A Senior Moment: Waiting…….
Senior Warden Diane Hendricks shares updates on events at St. John’s including an important parking update!

Love and Lent: A Senior Moment by Diane Hendricks (Senior Warden)
My favorite childhood movie is ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and my favorite childhood book is ‘The Velveteen Rabbit.’ Both remind me of Lent and the need to self-reflect, ask for forgiveness, and forgive others.

Chris+ Get’s Flocked
With little else to do on a Friday afternoon and the eve of Chris’s birthday several vestry ‘representatives’ flocked Chris and Mary Jo’s new home.

Meet Mary Jo!
Also known as Father Chris’ better half, Mary Jo is not your average clergy spouse. I spent some time with her over coffee recently and learned a lot:

New Parking and Landscaping On the Way!
As we enjoy our newly painted and carpeted interior there are some exciting plans coming in early 2024 for the exterior of our building.

St. John’s Gets Classy!
You may have noticed some new additions to the traditional artwork that has graced our walls for many years.
Paint, Parking and Upgrades
You may have noticed that things are looking brighter, fresher in our halls at St. John’s. It’s not your imagination - we’re getting a facelift!

Seek. Love. Serve. : Property, Anyone?
As Chris+ reminds us, “If we want to attract clergy to our congregation, we must demonstrate that we are proud of our building and grounds.”
