Worship

We invite you to join us for worship either in person or online. St. John’s parishioners are a varied group, and we welcome individuals and families of all kinds. We believe God delights in everyone and hope you will find a home here with us.

Worship is held each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary of the church. If you are unable to attend in person, worship is streamed via YouTube and can be watched live or on-demand.

A mid-week Eucharist (in person only) is also held each Wednesday at 12:10 p.m. in the All Saints Chapel, enter through the Leon Sullivan entrance to the building.

Most Sundays our Worship service is the Holy Eucharist, in which we participate in remembering God’s saving work in Christ by sharing bread and wine. All baptized Christians are welcome to receive Communion in the Episcopal Church, whether you were baptized in the Episcopal Church or another denomination. Most often we use Rite II for the Eucharist, which consists of more current language. However, during certain times of the Church year (such as Advent and Lent), we may use Rite I, a version of the service with an older and more formal style. On some Sundays, the service may be Morning Prayer, which can be led by a trained lay person and doesn’t require the priest. The text of all of these services is found in the Book of Common Prayer, which can be found online here.

If you would like to become more involved with Worship beyond attending services, please check out Parish Ministries on the Ministries page to learn more about the ways parish members make Worship happen every Sunday.
