What’s Going On in the Kitchen?

If you haven’t yet, peek in the door of the kitchen and see the new lemon-colored walls awaiting new appliances and counters. The Vestry has approved the purchase of a shiny new stove and hood, a new icemaker and new stainless steel counters to name a few. New coffee and ice-tea services in addition to a new water dispenser have been included.

We are hoping to have the kitchen up and running by the end of April, if not by Easter. Brian, Maggie and their Congregational Life Team along with our sexton, Elizabeth, will be especially relieved to have access to the conveniences of the new kitchen, avoiding the extra work of transferring food and dishes back and forth to Molly Warwick’s kitchenette.

Many thanks to Dwight Foley for his generous monetary gift for the kitchen remodeling. We can project that the entire cost of the kitchen will be covered by donations alone, allowing us to use other funds for the much-needed remodeling of the first-floor bathrooms.

Thank you, also, to Greg Isaacs who single-handedly spruced up our coffee bar with fresh paint.

Stay tuned for an announcement of a Kitchen Shower/Open House where we can all contribute to the many kitchen accessories needed. Brian is working on a “wish list” for us. The date will be announced soon.

As we anticipate the kitchen opening, please join us for a “Clean-Up-Day!” Details will be announced later this spring so watch This Week @ St. John’s!

Easter Blessings to you! Diane
