Diocesan House Advent Open House
Join +Matthew and staff at Diocesan House, 1608 Virginia St., as we celebrate the Advent season and prepare to welcome the Christ Child at Christmas. Light refreshments will be served and there will be activities & crafts for children of all ages.
Parish Retreat
While Advent is coming upon us, it is not too early to consider Lent. No, I am not talking about what to give up. I am hoping that it will be something you take on.
Christmas Concert
Under the direction of Choirmaster Chris Brown, the St. Ambrose Choir will be joined by the Appalachian Children’s Chorus and UC’s University Concert Choir and University Singers for this free holiday concert in the nave. The St. Ambrose Choir is sponsoring a reception following the concert, if you’d like to contribute a cold appetizer or cookies please let Olive Meyer or Margaret Lieberman know.

The Annual Charleston Christmas parade steps off at 7:00 p.m., Thursday December 7! This year instead of decorating a float for the parade and walking the entire parade route, we’ll meet up to watch and cheer on the Parade!

Yesterday was a difficult day around the campuses of St. John’s and Sacred Heart. Two incidents happened with Manna Meal clients. Our Bishop, the President of the Manna Meal Board, the Pastor and Principal at Sacred Heart and the Mayor have all been involved.
“Grow Church” is Underway!
In early October, Beth Marquart and I gathered with several others from around the diocese at St. Matthew’s on the Hill. The first in a series of retreat weekends, Grow Church is a two-year program offered by the Diocese of West Virginia and the Diocesan Church Development Institute (DCDI).
