Meandering with the Interim: Abundance

There is good work that needs doing, and we think God may be calling you!

Well it is October, and fall seems to come faster each year. We are thankful for the cool weather, especially after this incredibly hot summer. And, of course, as part of the fall season in the church comes a pledge drive, a new budget and, this year, preparation for a new Rector.

If I were to offer a single word for you to concentrate on this year and next, it would be ABUNDANCE. What do you, what do we, have in abundance? What might we give; what might you have to share? Paul, in his second letter to the Corinthians 9:6-7 has this to say:

Remember: A stingy planter gets a stingy crop; a lavish planter gets a lavish crop. I want each of you to take plenty of time to think it over and make up your own mind what you will give. That will protect you against sob stories and arm-twisting. God loves it when the giver delights in the giving.” (The Message)

Delighting in giving, in ABUNDANCE. No sob stories. No arm-twisting. Just the good work that needs doing and I think God is calling you!

Blessings and peace,  Chris+
