Bishop’s Visitation, Confirmation, Reception and Reaffirmation

This bishop is coming!  The bishop is coming!  Greetings, friends.  This isn’t a drill; this is an invitation.  Bishop Cowden is coming for his annual visitation to St. John’s on Sunday, December 15, the third Sunday of Advent this year.

During Bishop Cowden’s visit he’ll be present to preside over Holy Eucharist, to preach, to confirm, receive, and to reaffirm those who desire to reaffirm their faith.  I invite you to consider if you would like to receive the sacrament of confirmation.  Are you new to the Episcopal Church?  Have you wondered what the word, “Episcopal” means?  Are you coming to St. John’s from another denomation practice?

I would love to talk with you about confirmation, reception, or reaffirmation.  I’ll be hosting some Connected Communities on November 3 and 10 to help folks prepare for confirmation.  More dates will be forthcoming.

Please contact Eric or Linda at rector@stjohnswv.org or church@stjohnswv.org to let us know you are considering this opportunity.  We’ve had several new folks coming to worship to experience God’s love through the Episcopal Church.  So, let us know you’ll be attending the Connected Communities offerings, and we’ll prepare to be transformed together!

In God’s Grace,

Eric L. Miller+

Rector
