Blessing of the Animals: Sunday, October 6, 4 p.m. in St. John's Garden

In celebration of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals, we will hold the annual blessing of the pets in St. John’s garden. If rain is predicted, we will have a canopy. Bring your fine furry or feathered friends (or even reptilian ones) on leashes or in carriers, please. If your pet tends to be aggressive or anxious, you may bring a picture, toy, blanket, or other representation. We encourage you to bring pet food or cat litter to donate to Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association.

This year, in addition to our own pets, KCHA staff will bring a few shelter pets that are available for adoption. Who knows? Maybe their blessings will include a new home of their own!
