Padre's Ponderings - October 2024

Greetings, St. John’s family. Rosemary and I are ecstatic to attend the first “party with the padre (and Rosemary)” at our Senior Warden’s home. We are hoping this will be the first of many small group gatherings so that we can get to know all the saints of John much better. Remember, if you haven’t yet signed up to either host or attend a “party with the padre,” there’s still time. Email Donna Hamra at donna.hamra@gmail.com. Donna graciously volunteered to organize these gatherings as a way for you to get to know us better and vice versa. Sunday worship and coffee hour are great ways to be in community, and I yearn for smaller group gatherings to go deeper.

Please remember that there are many more of you than there are the two of us. Your nametags are most helpful. Please be patient with both of us as we learn your names. I’ve encountered some folks on Sundays who haven’t attended in a while and are fresh back to St. John’s—this is wonderful. Just remember that all of you are new to me, whether you’ve been with St. John’s all your lives or last Sunday was your first time with us. I promise I’ll get to know you and your names because that is important to me, and it will take me time. Thank you for your understanding.
