Lenten Taizé

Lenten Taize - March 23rd - 5PM - Chapel

Taize prayer is a very simple way of worship that is suitable for folks from many denominations. The pace is different from Sunday morning in that it is meditative and still, not dramatic and celebratory. In our service there is no preaching or communion and it’s led by lay leaders. Through prayers, readings, simple music and silence we are quietly led into the presence of God. The service is short - about 40 minutes. We enter in the candle-lit, sacred space in silence. We meditate, listen to the Word and sing and pray together. The songs are short, and very easy, almost like chants. As we sing them over and over they become a little like mantras and slowly we are drawn into God's timeless, peaceful presence. The service doesn't really end it just fades. When we feel ready we leave as we came, in silence.
